Territories observing the time zone are primarily in North America. It runs through the Aleutian islands which are actually considered part of Alaska. Those in the time zone also refer to it as Hawaii Daylight Time or HDT.

During fall to winter months Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time, or HAST is used, and then during Daylight Saving (spring to summer months) Hawaii-Aleutian Daylight Time or HADT is used.
